The European Commission is delighted to announce that a scholarship has been offered to a Turkish Cypriot scholar to study at the College of Europe.

In November 2021, the European Commission announced scholarships for postgraduate European studies at the prestigious College of Europe, under the EU Scholarship Programme for the Turkish Cypriot community. This opportunity came as an additional effort of the European Commission to facilitate the reunification of Cyprus, by enabling Turkish Cypriots to study at a top establishment that offers specialised programmes on European studies.

The College of Europe is a remarkable institution known for preparing professionals to work in the integration of their own countries to the EU. We hope Turkish Cypriots studying at the College of Europe will be paving the way towards the reunification of Cyprus and full integration in the EU. That is more important than ever in the current Cyprus context.

The European Commission will continue offering scholarships for the College of Europe within the Scholarship Programme and encourages Turkish Cypriots to explore this unique opportunity in the future including by taking part in the specific EU financed preparation programme which will be offered for Turkish Cypriots this autumn in order to increase the number of eligible candidates as much as possible.
