Description
It will be implemented in spring 2022, ahead of the second phase of the UN Biodiversity Conference CBD COP15 and during the European Year of Youth.
Through a dedicated web platform, at engaging events, on social media and in cooperation with youth organisations across the EU, the initiative is about mobilising young people and co-creating an action plan with them to protect and restore our natural world in the next decade – and to create a future where people can live in harmony with nature.
To amplify the voices of young people, a call for events named Green Track Stops has been launched. It invites young people – students, scientists, junior professionals, artists – and youth organisations across the EU to become part of the journey and contribute to the debate on the future of our planet and biodiversity in a meaningful way.
The call for events aims to ensure a variety of topics are represented, related to environment and in particular biodiversity and nature protection. It targets young people in all EU regions, speaking as many EU languages as possible, and allows for any format – online, hybrid or on-site, conferences, meetings, exhibitions, workshops or performances. The selected events will be organised between March and May 2022, ahead of the COP15 Conference, and their ideas and inspirational actions will be taken on board during the closing campaign event.
Any format – online or on-site, conferences, meetings, workshops, exhibitions, performances.
