Vice-President of the European Commission, Margaritis Schinas, in dialogue with students at the University of Nicosia, Friday 22 March 2024.

The Representation of the European Commission in Cyprus is organising a dialogue on democracy and the upcoming European elections, between students and Margaritis Schinas, Vice-President of the European Commission for Promoting our European Way of Life in the UNESCO Amphitheatre of the University of Nicosia. The discussion will be open to the public.

The students will also have the opportunity to discuss issues related to the wide-ranging portfolio of the Vice-President, which includes coordinating European policies on migration, security, health, skills, education, culture, sport, equality and diversity, as well as dialogue between the Commission and churches or faith-based organisations and communities.

This is the third visit by Mr Schinas to Cyprus during his tenure as Vice-President of the European Commission, while he will be in Cyprus for a series of meetings with politicians and other leaders.
