Vice-President Schinas in Turkey to address the situation at the EU's external border with Belarus

Visit of Margaritis Schinas, Vice-President of the European Commission, to Iraq

Vice-President for Promoting our European Way of Life, Margaritis Schinas, will be tonight and tomorrow (19 November) in Ankara, Turkey. This visit is the fourth stop in a tour of partner countries key to putting a stop to the instrumentalisation of migrants by the Belarussian regime and aims to further reinforce the overall cooperation on migration and security. The Vice-President will convey the message that migration management is a shared responsibility and joint priority both for the European Union and for Turkey. In Ankara tonight, the Vice-President will meet with the Foreign Affairs Minister of Turkey, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu. Tomorrow, Vice-President Schinas, will meet with the Vice-President of the Republic of Turkey, Fuat Oktay, and Interior Minister of Turkey, Süleyman Soylu. The Vice-President will also participate in a roundtable event organised by the EU directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Turkey's National Erasmus Agency to highlight Turkey's association to Horizon Europe, Erasmus+ and the Solidarity Corps. The deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Faruk Kaymakci, will participate to the roundtable, along with Turkish and foreign students.
