Commissioner Kyriakides attends the G7 Health Ministerial in Nagasaki

Stella Kyriakides, Commissioner for Health and Food Safety, will be participating in the G7 Health ministerial meeting in Nagasaki, Japan on Saturday 13 May and Sunday 14 May. Discussions will focus on the strengthening of the global health architecture, increasing universal health coverage and promoting health innovation. 

Commissioner Kyriakides  will also participate in a joint meeting of the G7 Health and Finance Ministers on funding for global health partnerships and initiatives with  Commissioner for the Economy, Paolo Gentiloni  

On Monday 15 May, Commissioner Kyriakides will travel to Tokyo to visit the National Cancer Centre of Japan, with a focus on Japan’s approach to cancer research, prevention, early detection, screening, treatment and care. She will also hold a meeting with Mr. Tetsuro Nomura, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan, to discuss EU-Japan cooperation in the area of food safety.
